Buying your first set of golf clubs can seem quite daunting with all the choices out there. To take away some of the confusion I have listed some things to keep in mind before you go out to get your first set of golf clubs.

Be Clear About Your Golf Goals. If you identify realistic goals before you set out to buy, it will make the process of buying clubs a lot easier. If you are deeply committed to golf and plan to play every day, then obviously you will want to spend more time, money and effort on a set of clubs than if you only intend to play twice a year with your brother-in-law.

You should Assess Your Levels of Dedication and Interest. By honestly assessing your dedication to golf, you can more easily determine how much to spend, and on what quality of clubs. How much will you be practicing? Will you be willing to take lessons? If you aren’t willing to go that far, then you’re probably better off going with a cheaper pair of clubs. If you plan to practice regularly, and take lessons, then you may want something more expensive.

New or Used Clubs? Used clubs are probably a good choice if you aren’t sure about your commitment or have a history of taking up hobbies and losing interest in them after a short time. They will be cheaper than new clubs and they can be replaced more easily later.

Shaft Options - The Basics. The two differences in golf shafts that beginners should keep in mind are shaft composition (graphite or steel) and shaft flex (the amount of bend in the shaft during your swing). Steel is cheaper and sturdier, but graphite is lighter, so it will generate more swing speed. Women and older players will benefit most from graphite shafts that have a softer flex. Stronger, younger men may go with regular or stiffer shafts, but remember that many teaching say too many golfers use shafts with too much stiffness. If you’d like to get more details about proper shaft selection consider getting the Golf Beginners Guide, a 272 page ebook created especially for the novice golfer.

Getting a Clubfitting. If you are getting a new set of clubs, a clubfitting is an option. A clubfitting, lasting about half an hour, is an option offered by many teaching pros. If you don’t want that, at least getting a measurement in a pro shop will ensure that the clubs you choose are well-suited to your body. If you are a 5-foot-10 male, then the standard clubs straight off the rack will fit you. However, if that description doesn’t fit you very well, you might want to get fitted.

Easier Golf with the Right Clubs. Nothing will take the place of a good swing, but as a novice golfer you can make it easier on yourself by choosing clubs that are designed specifically for higher-handicappers - known as “game improvement clubs”. You should choose irons that are cavity-backed and perimeter-weighted. Investigate “hybrid” sets, in which utility clubs replace the long irons - that is, the 3-, 4- and occasionally 5-irons. Go for more loft (i.e. 12 degrees), not less, when choosing a driver. Don’t pay attention to what kind of clubs Tour players use.

Seek Advice, Ask Questions. If you have friends who play, ask them for advice. Ask at a pro shop or golf pro for recommendations. Get some idea of what you are really looking for. When you’ve done all this, and you’re ready to buy, remember to shop around. Range and price will always differ from one outlet to another, whether you’re shopping at pro shops, department stores, or garage sales. Just keep in mind your price range and only buy clubs within that range.

Costa Blanca, the white coast, is located in the Alicante Province on the Mediterranean coast of Spain. The area is incredibly popular with tourists particularly from Northern Europe, especially in Great Britain, Germany and the Scandinavian countries where the weather tends to be fairly harsh. The beautiful year round weather, including mild and typically dry winters bring people to Costa Blanca for the many out door activities all year long.

Golf is one of the many popular activities that can be enjoyed comfortably year round on the Costa Blanca. There are several fantastic golfing resorts that operate along the Costa Blanca with amenities for everyone in a group, even the non-golfers. There are beautiful spas and pools and beaches and many activities to keep everyone busy. When you are in Costa Blanca for golf, you are in one of the most beautiful places imaginable.

There are several four star golfing resorts in the Costa Blanca region. The perfectly landscaped greens, professional instruction and luxurious accommodations all add to the fantastic experience you can have playing golf in Costa Blanca.

The courses with the highest ratings along Costa Blanca include Alicante Golf, Alenda Golf, Campoamor Golf, Don Cay Golf, El Plantia Golf, and Villamartin Golf. There are also many reduced green fees for guests of certain hotels, including the Campoamor Golf Hotel.

If you play enough to desire a second home in the area that is located on a course, there are many available golf properties. If playing golf out of your front door sounds like a great idea, consider this option in this area; you won’t find a better place to enjoy year round golfing. There is also the option of buying into a condominium or apartment that would be within walking distance of a course. These properties may also be used as rental income property when you are not in residence.

In recent years, the new golf course projects of Puerto Banus and San Pedro Alcantara have come from some of Spain’s top developers. These new courses offer golf shares, or membership owners of the residences and the courses themselves.

While most golf obsessed travelers will fill their hours on the course, there are several options for any down time that may occur during rounds. Costa Blanca is famous for its beautiful beaches, and many tourist attractions, from the theme parks, natural parks, museums and churches. Spending time off the course can actually be quite enjoyable in this part of the world. The resort hotels where many golfers like to stay offer spas with the usual available treatments, mani-pedis, facials, sea salt scrubs, and massages and these can all be made available to the golfer after a fantastic day on the course.

The nightlife in Costa Blanca is also made to be experienced. Since it will be dark outside and golf will have to wait until the morning, why not find out exactly what there is to do at night in Costa Blanca? The restaurants, bars, discos and night clubs offer many opportunities for entertainment off the course.

I’ve got to say I love the Holidays. The warm feeling of love that surrounds us. The wonderful aroma of holiday food. The bright colors and decorations.

I also love to give and receive gifts. Do you ever wonder how the gift giving tradition started. There are many theories. Here are three.

At some time in our ancient past, friends exchanged evergreen twigs and dried fruits as wishes for continuation and abundance of life in the coming year. Romans exchanged gifts at winter solstice as expressions of affection and brotherhood, giving coins for prosperity, pastries for happiness, and lamps to light one’s journey through life.

Santa Claus, evolved from St. Nicholas, an actual person who distributed his wealth to the needy through the giving of secret gifts. During the fourth century St. Nicholas had a reputation for his generosity and kindness, especially toward children. He was known for giving treats and small presents to them. St. Nicholas has evolved into the Santa Claus of today.

The giving of gifts at Christmas is said to symbolize the gifts the Wise Men brought to the baby Jesus. The wise men brought three gifts with them to honor Jesus, which had prophetic meaning. Gold- a gift for a king, Incense- a gift for a priest and Myrrh- a burial ointment for one who would die

It doesn’t matter if you are giving a gift to a special loved one or an friend from work, you want the person to know you appreciate them. Finding just the right gift can be difficult and time comsuming. I am inserting a link to help you with your holiday shopping.
If you’re a golf enthusiast or even just a weekend warrior then you should consider a golf vacation. It will offer you new scenery and depending on where you go, it can be fun for the entire family. Golf and travel go hand in hand since many golf courses are located in warm weather or touristy areas. Picking a destination really depends on what you’re looking for. Here are some tips to finding the perfect golf outing for you.

Many golfers would like the opportunity to play on courses where the pros have played. For them a true golf vacation would be paying on the same courses Arnold Palmer and Tiger Woods have teed off. This is possible though some courses are only open to members so it’s beneficial to know someone who belongs to these prominent clubs.

For other golfers, an ideal golf trip depends more on the weather than the destination. If you live in a cold weather city then maybe a tropical destination such as Florida or Alicantewould be ideal. If something cool and dry is preferred then maybe Las Vegas or Phoenix in the winter time. All of these destinations have award winning golf courses that are sure to fulfill your “need for green”.

Some golfers like to try their hand at golf courses with a new challenge. That can be golfing in the snow or at night. There are certain golf courses that cater specifically to these kinds of challenging games. There are glow in the dark balls for night golf and florescent balls for snow golf so they are easier to find (but still more difficult). There may be a course near you that offers these types of golfing but you can also combine it and make a vacation out of it. Lake Tahoe in California and Aspen in Colorado are perfect vacation spots for the snow golf enthusiast. Make sure you bring a thermos of coffee and warm clothes as its not the same as playing golf in Alicante.

For most golfers they are just satisfied to play at a new course with other golf friends. They play for fun and compliment or razz each other depending in the shot. Many times they play pairs and socialize between holes. This can be a cross country flight to a tropical destination or just a road trip with an overnight stay at a resort.

There are a few golfers who prefer to hit the green by themselves and find the opportunity to improve their game an ideal vacation. They will take the time to walk the course and challenge themselves. Sometimes they will purposely find non-ideal weather so they can practice their skills.

In any case, a golf vacation (or even just an outing) can be the break you need to enjoy gold and get away from the stress of everyday life.

by Benedict Neel

Some golfers see clubs as simple pieces of sporting gear. To others, golf clubs are extensions of themselves. And then, there are serious golfers who treat every game as a battle, and every club as a powerful weapon.

If you’re a battle-ready golfer waiting to take down your next opponent, you need to invest in killer equipment, like Killer Whale golf clubs.

If you’re ready to invest in good quality clubs like Killer Whale, Ping or Titleist, then a custom fit is the only way to go. After all, it’s a lot of money to spend on golf clubs, so you might as well have the perfect fit and performance. Even the most polite and reserved golfer should secretly see his or her clubs as weapons, hearty enough to battle the tees, the rough, the sand traps, the green and even the best golfing buddies.

Your clubs are so important to you, and to your scorecard, so it’s important to customize them. Wilson, the company that manufactures Killer Whale golf clubs, uses a process called “dynamic fitting” to make custom clubs. When you take part in the process, you’ll see how much a custom fit really can improve your game.

Dynamic fitting is a simple premise, based on the fact that every golfer has a different swing. From beginners to pros, each individual golfer has his or her unique way of shifting body weight and swinging the clubs. That’s why your clubs should be able to work with your individual swing.

Wilson’s custom dynamic fitting system allows you to choose custom Killer Whale golf clubs that can match your particular swing. When your clubs can actually enhance your natural swing, you’re playing a better game.

For the best game, you must be able to choose custom equipment, like Killer Whale golf clubs, that meet and enhance your natural swing. The first step in this process is to choose your head type. This will maximize the trajectory, forgiveness and consistency of your swing. Then, you will choose the perfect shaft for your totally custom Killer Whale golf clubs.

It may sound too good to be true, but these simple steps can work wonders that no amount of practice and no number of training classes can match. Instructors might try to adjust your stance, and you could attempt to change your swing to compensate your equipment, but that just doesn’t make sense.

It’s like buying new clothes. You don’t have your body tailored to fit your new pants; you tailor the pants until the fit is just right. That same premise is true for golf clubs.

For more information on dynamic fitting, Killer Whale golf clubs and the specific choices available to you, contact a local Wilson sales agent or visit your favorite golf equipment or pro shop. You can also check the Wilson golf website at wilson.com.

by R N Catherwood

There are now so many GPS golf range finders available on the market that it can be very tough to decide on which one is right for you. We have gone out and tested several of these over the last few months and have found one that is streets ahead of the rest. It’s the Golf Buddy Pro GPS. Here’s why.

- No Annual Fees To Pay

You will find that other GPS golf range finders out there requires you pay an annual fee. The Golf Buddy Pro GPS has no fees to pay at all. Not only is this the case, but any additional courses that you may want to add to the system can be downloaded from the manufacturers website at no extra cost

- 20,000 Courses Storage

One big issue that is worth mentioning, is the storage capacity of the GPS golf range finder. There are many systems out there that are good, but fail on this all important issue. The last thing you need to be doing is to always be deleting courses in the units memory to make room for new ones.

The Golf Buddy Pro GPS beats the competition hands down with it’s impressive 20,000 course memory capacity. This feature puts this system miles ahead of the competition. all courses from North America are pre installed into the system, with the added ability to be used anywhere in the world too. World courses can be downloaded to the system whenever you want them.

- Calculate Your Distance To The Whole Quickly

For years golfers have been using the more traditional method of using the sprinkler heads on the golf course to work out the yardage and thus judge the remaining distance to the hole. The Golf Buddy Pro GPS now removes the need for to do any of that. with a couple of pushes of a button, the Golf Buddy will work out your remaining distance to hole within an error range of 2 yards. Not bad.

These were but a few of the reasons why the Golf Buddy Pro GPS out performs the rival competition like it does. We have tested many GPS golf range finders in the last 18 months and the Golf Buddy Pro GPS has far exceeded our expectations. If you are considering a GPS, then look no further than the Golf Buddy Pro.

It doesn’t seem possible a year has passed since the Christmas and Thanksgiving holidays of 2007. Summer has come and gone. We are now busy making plans for church events, family gatherings, and social activities centered around this festive time for 2008.

The Christmas season or winter holiday season is a late-year season that surrounds the Christmas holiday. Also other holidays during the months of November and December.

The Christmas shopping and buying season is already underway. Friends and family, not to mention you and your family, are making plans for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Several of the religious festivals during the Christmas/winter holiday season are celebrated with the exchanges of gifts. The winter holiday season thus also incorporates the holiday shopping season.

The first Monday after Thanksgiving was named Cyber Monday as the kick-off to the Christmas/winter holiday season for online shopping.

Mondays have been the most popular day for on-line shopping during the holiday shopping season, in contrast to the middle of the week during the rest of the year. They attribute this to people shopping in stores and malls on the weekends.

Online shopping is the process consumers go through to purchase products or services over the Internet. An online store or virtual store evokes the physical analogy of buying products or services at a bricks-and-mortar retailer or in a shopping mall. Visit Online Holiday Store!

The advantages of shopping on line are obvious. You save a lot of time and energy. You save on gas. You can have your gifts sent directly to the person if you choose. Not to mention savings on wrapping paper, ribbon, tape, etc. Please Vist Online Holiday Store!

Planning a golf vacation in a city as big and popular as Las Vegas is not an easy thing to do. Plan every step of your vacation, months ahead. Always remember that it’s your vacation, and you can make this trip, fun-filled and hassle-free.

The first thing to do is choosing a place. Look through different golf courses and see what each one has to offer you. Sometimes, many of them give excellent deals for those who are taking a vacation exclusively for golf. Doing this in advance can remove some of those planning troubles.

Looking for packaged deals can make things easier for you, to figure out the golf course of your choice. First, list out all the things you plan to do during this vacation. Then find a package that has it all.

A vacation is meant to relieve your stress, and not add to it. Say, you might have to have your own clubs in some golf courses, while in others you can rent them for the weekend. Some clubs may have ties with hotels in the area, or they may assist you in finding a place to stay. Asking in advance if such services are available will lessen things for you to plan ahead.

The deciding factor in any vacation is the budget. This will narrow down a lot of choices for you. But every clous has a silver lining. If you have a smaller budget, then you’ll have more to save up. But if you are going for an expensive vacation, then the money you spend will do most of your planning for you.

If packages seem too expensive and time-consuming for your taste, plan your golf trip yourself. Sometimes, this can be an easy alternative, especially if your trip is going to be fairly short. You may find it easier to price golf courses that have one-day charges.

Another very helpful tool is people. Listen to what others have to say about Las Vegas golf courses, especially if they have taken a trip themselves. Remember, someone who has actually been can sometimes give you a better review than the golf club selling you the package.

Finally, never think twice for a vacation. You deserve it. Don’t compromise on things that you really wanted to do, just so you can save a few dollars. With proper planning, you can make your golf vacation in Vegas an everlasting memory.
